So exactly, What is Live Scan Fingerprinting ?
Simply, it's the means to accessing your criminal background check record, if any. The results of your live scan background check are automatically sent to your employer, company or requesting agency.
THE LIVE SCAN PROCESS & HOW LONG IS THE TURN AROUND TIME
The live scan Process consist of 3 stages:
First, electronically capturing your fingerprints. Then the Live Scan Technician will submit your fingerprints to the California Dept of Justice (DOJ) and/or FBI. Finally, your background check results are sent to the your employer or requesting agency in a matter of days of less.
Sounds simple? Well, it is. You just need to bring the following items with you to the live scan location:
- The Request for Live Scan Form. If your form is in an email, you can print it out in our office when you arrive.
- Bring a Valid Photo ID (i.e. Driver's License, State ID Card, Passport, etc). Note: A temporary license (DMV Paper Print-out) is NOT a valid form of identification.)
- and the live scan Payment.
Upon your arrival, you will hand the live scan technician your completed live scan forms and take your fingerprints. This process is about 10 minutes.
The beauty of taking a live scan fingerprinting is that the turnaround time for results is usually a week for some people and a couple of days for most people!
